MIDF fulfils 2021 business zakat obligation
As one of the five pillars of Islam, zakat is a form of obligatory charity that has the potential to ease the suffering of millions of less fortunate people.
This year, MIDF have managed to utilise its 2021 Zakat to ten zakat collection centers before we close the year.
On 20 December 2022, En. Meor Ibrahim b. Othman, Senior Vice President/Head Group Compliance Division of MIDF, presented MIDF’s corporate zakat payment to Lembaga Zakat Selangor, on behalf of the group to YBhg Prof. Madya Dr. Haji Miszairi bin Haji Sitiris, Sahibus Samahah Deputy Mufti of Selangor.
The ceremony, which took place at the Wisma PKPS Shah Alam, also saw the participation of other corporates such as Bank Rakyat, Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad, Affin Islamic Bank Berhad, Bank Simpanan Nasional, Radicare and a few more.
To help ease the burden of those who are in-need, MIDF have also distributed the remaining of 2021 Zakat amongst Pusat Pungutan Zakat Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (PPZ-MAIWP), Majlis Agama Dan Istiadat Melayu Perlis (MAIPs), Majlis Ugama Islam Sabah (MUIS), Majlis Agama Islam Negeri Johor (MAIJ), Jabatan Agama Islam Sarawak (JAIS), Majlis Agama Islam Negeri Pulau Pinang (MAINPP), Majlis Agama Islam Dan Adat Melayu Terengganu (MAIDAM Terengganu), Majlis Agama Islam Dan Adat Istiadat Melayu Kelantan (MAIK), and Majlis Ugama Islam Dan Adat Resam Melayu Pahang (MUIP).
