MIDF at the Youth Economic Forum 2022
MIDF participated in this year’s Youth Economic Forum (YEF) which was held on 29 October 2022 at Sasana Kijang, Bank Negara Malaysia. Organised by Perdana Fellow Alumni Associations (PFAA), YEF 2022, themed ‘Overcoming Crisis - Dangers and Opportunities’, aimed at engaging all levels of societies in rebuilding resilient recovery from the pandemic, saw over 1,000 participants and 32 notable speakers including caretaker Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, who gave the keynote address and Ikhlas Capital Chairman and Founding Partner Tan Sri Mohamed Nazir Abdul Razak. Chairman of Pakatan Harapan Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin addressed Forum participants via pre-recorded messages.

This year’s key topics covered a few agendas which included the sustainability, economic, digital, business, political and education agendas.
En. Max Azaham, Senior Vice President/Head of Digital Business at MIDF was part of the Digital Agenda panel that discussed transiting into the digital space on the first day of the YEF 2022. Other panel members included Datuk Ahmad Zaki Zahid, Chief Strategy Officer, Digital Nasional Bhd, Pn. Surina Shukri of Women in Blockchain Asia and Dato' Dr. Fadhlullah Suhaimi bin Abdul Malek, Independent Non-Executive Director, Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet). The discussion was moderated by Pn. Nursyazana Amiruddin, Head of Sales Enablement & Innovation at Maxis Berhad.

Striving to create critical, intellectual and meaningful discourse on current issues and global trends, the Youth Economic Forum - founded in 2016 by the PFAA aims to promote new perspectives and insights on the state of the world, the economy, and society through constructive and fact-based discussions. This platform endeavours to connect both young professionals and university students from across the Asia Pacific with participants from governments, academia, the private sector, and international organisations to collectively seek innovative solutions, increase mutual understanding, and bridge knowledge gaps.
