An astute project professional for more than 30 years, Ahmad Faraid is presently the Project Director (GENCO ESG Program Management Office) for TNB Power Generation Sdn. Bhd. (TNB Genco). Equipped with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and a Master of Science (MSc.) in Control Systems from UK as his forte, Ahmad Faraid is pioneering uncharted territory in decarbonizing TNB Genco thermal assets consisting of 14GW capacity domestically. As most of TNB fossil-fueled electricity generating assets are in TNB Genco, Ahmad Faraid is responsible for achieving the aspiration of halving coal capacity and achieving the targeted carbon intensity of 0.35tCO2/MWh by 2035.

Prior to his current appointment, Ahmad Faraid was the Head (Asset Development), TNB Genco and was responsible for TNB Genco’s power generation asset under construction, from inception to completion and subsequent handover for successful operation. Under his leadership, Ahmad Faraid completed power generation projects worth RM24bil totaling 5GW capacity. He leads a highly experienced team of various backgrounds, who are committed to achieving TNB Sustainability Pathway goals and net zero 2050 aspiration.
