MIDF board members visit factories in Melaka
On 14 August 2023, Development Finance Business (DFB) arranged a tour of two factories located in Melaka for our Board members. The visiting group included our Chairman, Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Mamat, Board members Dato’ Kaziah Abdul Kadir, Datuk Mohd Nasir Ali, Encik Ahmad Lutfi Abdull Mutalip, representatives from DFB including its Chief Business Officer, En. Azizi Hj Mustafa.
The first visit was to Teck Leong Coffee & Tea Merchant (M) Sdn Bhd (TLC&T). The company manufactures instant beverages, particularly coffee and tea-related products including white coffee, smooth milk tea, ginger tea, 3-in-1 coffee, chocolate drinks, soy drinks, brown rice drinks, breakfast cereals, nutritious oatmeal, almond oatmeal, etc. About 80% of TLC&T products are sold locally while another 20% is for export market to Singapore.
We financed close to RM4 million for TLC&T’s new factory in Taman Perindustrian Tanjong Minyak Perdana, Melaka.
After lunch, the group visited CTRM Aero Composites Sdn Bhd in Batu Berendam, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Composites Technology Research Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. It was incorporated on 16 August 1994 as the manufacturing unit of CTRM, focusing on manufacturing since 1995, evolving from light aircraft manufacturing to detail parts composites manufacturing for various models of aircraft. The components are 100% for the export market.
CTRM received an RM40 million grant under the Matching Grant for Aerospace & Medical Devices (MGAMD) managed by DFB.
The group left Melaka after dinner and arrived in KL at about 9:45 pm.
The visit is part of the management’s efforts to enhance their understanding of our existing clientele, as well as to increase their presence and accessibility to both current and prospective clients.
