MIDF Research successfully hosted significant stakeholder dialogues in October
MIDF Research held two major events this month for some of the Group's clients and friends. The first event was the MIDF Roundtable Dialogue Session with YB Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport which was held on 11 October 2023. Titled "Laying the Tracks of Tomorrow: The Future of Malaysia's Transport Infrastructure", over 200 guests attended the event which saw the Minister discuss and answer questions on the vital role that transportation and, more specifically, rail transportation plays in driving Malaysia's economic development and fostering sustainability as well as the exciting prospects and challenges that lie ahead.
This was followed by the MIDF Roundtable Dialogue on "NIMP 2030: Curating Malaysia's Sustainable Investments & Growth" on 16 October 2023 which was attended by over 340 guests. YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, delivered the keynote address which was then followed by a panel session comprising panellists who delved deeper into the impact of the NIMP 2030.
They were Puan Masni Muhammad, Executive Director of Investment Policy Advocacy (Manufacturing), Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Mr. Ng Kok Tiong, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Infineon Technologies (Kulim) Sdn. Bhd., Mr. Chin Fung Wei, Chief Financial Officer of Oppstar Berhad and En. Emry Hisham Bin Yusoff, Senior General Manager of Carbon Management at PETRONAS. The panel session was moderated by En. Azizi Mustafa, Chief Executive Officer of MIDF.
Given the recent unveiling of NIMP 2030, this event was organised to facilitate a more comprehensive examination of the plan and its anticipated impact on the nation's economic transformation for our stakeholders. Both events were held at St Regis Kuala Lumpur and are part of the Group's initiatives via MIDF Research, to update and offer valuable insights to our stakeholders regarding the ongoing economic developments within the nation.
